Name that room!

  • The Granville Historical Society Po Box 129 Granville, OH 43023 (map)

The current Blue Room...because the wall is blue?

Will you help us honor the historic figures of Granville's past by naming them on one of our exhibit rooms?

Take a moment to recall the prominent people, cherished places, and fabled events that make Granville unique, and nominate them to adorn the entrance of one of our exhibit rooms.

A PROJECT OF THE REFRESH INITIATIVE: CELEBRATING 140 YEARS OF THE GRANVILLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY IN 2025

This permanent exhibit of Oese's kitchen is moving to another room for better display and this space is becoming a staff room. It, too, needs a new name from Granville's history.

If the 1816 Alexandrian Bank Society Building room had a name, then it has been lost. If the Cherry Room, the Blue Room, or Oese’s Kitchen Room—additions from the 1950s—ever had honorary names, then they have either been lost over time or, more likely, never existed at all. We are looking to change that as we celebrate our 140th anniversary next year.

Click here to submit your nomination to Evelyn Frolking and the GHS Development Committee by December 15th, 2024.
